FDIC WORKSHOP

Please join me for my 4 hour "Think Like an Incident Commander" workshop at FDIC on April 21. We'll be discussing how to establish strategy, make decisions, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong command presence under the stressful conditions of the fireground. I'll also be at the Fire Engineering bookshop at 11:00 on 4/20 and at 12:00 on 4/22 with copies of my new book, "Pressure Proof: A Guide to Performing Under Stress". Feel free to stop by for a chat.

BOOK RELEASE

Very pleased to announce that my latest book, “Pressure Proof: A Guide to Performing Under Stress” has been released today (yes, I know it’s Friday the 13th). I wrote this book because we all live in what can often be a very stressful world both in our work life and in our normal day to day activities. The book is geared to share the lessons I learned in handling the pressure and challenge of managing fires in a 33 year career with the New York City Fire Department. The tools that worked on the fireground can also work for you in any difficult situation. I’ll be doing a book signing at the FDIC bookstore in Indianapolis on April 20 and April 22nd. Please stop by if you want to talk about books, firefighting, or life in general.

NEW BOOK RELEASE

Very excited to see the cover of my next book “Pressure Proof: A Guide to Performing Under Stress” which will be released this spring. See how the decision-making process that happens on the fireground can work in all aspects of your work and personal life. Learn the tools that allow you to maintain a command presence and refocus from disabling fear to positive action in any challenging scenario.

Looking forward to presenting "Seeing the Elephant: A Fire Chief's Guide to Performing Under Stress" for Kean University this Wednesday (11/5) at the Sommerset County Emergency Services Academy in New Jersey.
